1st term +2d term (42 ECTS): September 2023- February 2024

The first and second terms are dedicated to the core theoretical and applied International Law and Sustainability Courses.
Students are requested to take courses in the area studies of International Human Rights Law, International Relations and Good Governance/Sustainability theories, concepts and applied practices. The different disciplines mark the interdisciplinary character of this MA Programme, such as law, social sciences and development studies as well as international and national policies in the light of the 2015 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were endorsed by all Central Asian governments.  After each course, students will be tested and graded according to academic standards.
Due to the specific collaboration of MAHRS with the Global Campus in Venice, during the first term joint sessions, guest lectures -online and offline- will be offered to the students.  Guest lectures will be organized with any of the other seven regional Master Degrees in Human Rights in Latin America (Buenos Aires), Asia Pacific (Bangkok), Caucasus (Yerevan), Europe (Venice), Africa (Pretoria) and South East Europe (Sarajevo-Bologna), with a particular focus on regional organization and methods to apply SDGs in the light of Human Rights and good governance principles compliance. There is also a focus on peace and conflict studies, conflict prevention and resolution in compliance with international humanitarian and human rights law.

3rd term+4th term (30 ECTS): March - August 2024

The third and fourth terms will focus on internship and student’s independent research work. Students are requested to undertake 6 weeks Internship Term. Each internship will be awarded with 12 ECTS. Students choose among the OSCE Academy partner institutions their internship program for which they must apply. They can also find and select an institution of their own choice if it is approved by the Academic Coordinator of the MAHRS. The internships are held in cooperation with state institutions, international organization and NGOs in the sphere of human rights.
In addition student shall write an applied research paper (min 20 pages) (18 ECTS) that can be linked to their Master's Thesis

5th term (12 ECTS): September 2024- December 2025

The fifth term will focus on thematic Clusters & Mobility at Partner Universities and Thesis Writing, Research Seminars & Thesis Supervision by Partner Universities.
Students take min two and max four courses at partner universities in Central Asia. The focus is on regional and even national and local aspects of policies and mechanisms to implement SDG’S and other sustainable development efforts by governments, IGOs and NGOs. Likewise, students have the opportunity to study regional aspects of international human rights law promotion, i.e., through ODIHR and UN, development and implementation of global norms to local realities:
•    National and regional systems for promotion and protection of human rights; Legal, political and social mechanisms necessary for realization of human rights at the regional and national levels; Roles of the United Nations, other inter- state bodies and institution, non-governmental agencies, the media and civil society in relation to human rights; Promotion and protection of rights in Constitutions; Role of National Human Rights Commissions, and courts; Critical assessment of the mechanisms studied; Human rights, peace agreements, and transitional justice mechanisms.
•    Outlook on current issues related to human rights, democracy and good governance in the Central Asia; Examine central issues such as regionalism, international human rights law, globalization, democratization and good governance, promotion of global free trade, development in economic and social, poverty eradication, environmental conservation, migration, forms of armed conflicts, and protection of minorities; Analyze impacts of specific issues on violations or protection of human rights.

6th term (20 ECTS): January- February 2025

The sixth term is dedicated to the master thesis preparation, thesis defense, state exams and graduation

7th Term (16 ECTS): March -May 2025

During the seventh term students are requested to implement their individual works. Thereafter they will be receiving official Kyrgyz state diplomas in May 2025.
