UN Political Affairs Officer Shares Career Insights with OSCE Academy Students

On 24 October 2025, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek hosted an interactive session titled “Building a Career in International Peace and Security: Lessons from the UN and Beyond” with Dr. Jomart Ormonbekov, Political Affairs Officer at the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) in New York.

MA students of the OSCE Academy participated in the discussion, where Dr. Ormonbekov shared his extensive professional experience in diplomacy, preventive diplomacy, and multilateral cooperation. Drawing from his career with the United Nations, OSCE, and the European Union, as well as his earlier service in Kyrgyzstan’s foreign ministry, he provided practical advice on how young professionals from Central Asia can pursue international careers in peace and security.
