Summer School 2023 unites Students from Central Asia and Beyond

On 1 August 2023, the Opening Ceremony of the Summer School Programme 2023 was held at the OSCE Academy. This year, a total of 77 participants joined the programme from Central Asian countries, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Russia, and Türkiye, including newly enrolled students of the MA Programmes in Politics and Security and in Economic Governance and Development.

Dr. Indira Satarkulova, the Acting Director of the Academy, welcomed the participants, highlighting the significance of Summer School and giving some tips to succeed in studies, as well as introducing the OSCE Academy activities and opportunities for students. Dr. Eriona Çela, a Lecturer, also greeted the participants with warm words. Dr. Çela emphasized that learning requires skills, but it also requires hard work. Colin McCullough, Senior Planning and Co-ordination Officer, OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, noted, "There are 57 countries coming together to give you this opportunity, and we see it as an investment. We are counting on you, and we believe in you."

During the next four weeks, participants will undergo courses in Mathematics for Economists, Introduction to Research Methods in Social Sciences, and Academic Writing according to their field of study.
