  • Karlygash Kabatova: Adolescent Sexuality Education is UYATEMES.kz

    Karlygash Kabatova, alumna, 2014, MA Programme in Politics and Security is from Kazakhstan and an experienced researcher and civic & social activist. On 1 June, on International Day for Protection of Children, Karlygash launched uyatemes.kz – a website on sexuality education for adolescents. Now Karlygash is invited to talk shows, interviews, radio, and conferences to discuss the issues related to early pregnancies, sexuality education, sexual harassment and gender issues, etc. Why and how she works on such an important and at the same time sensitive issue is shared in her interview:

  • Malika Tukmadieva: New Research Hub for Young Scholars

    After graduation Malika received a European Scholarship for Central Asia for the Master of Advanced Studies in International and European Security from the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) and the European Institute of the University of Geneva (IEUG), which is offered exclusively to Academy alumni. Malika was a part of different research projects and eventually, together with friends, she established own research lab in Astana.

  • Farkhod Aminjonov: Academic Life is an Adventure

    Farkhod Aminjonov graduated from the MA Programme in Politics and Security in 2009. In less than ten years Farkhod has had numerous achievements to add to his academic and professional portfolio. In 2015 Farkhod received his PhD and today he is one of the better known energy experts in the region. He taught the Energy Module for the OSCE Academy MA Programme in Economic Governance and Development this year. Currently Farkhod works at the Narxoz University and is affiliated with a number of research projects, and institutions. In this interview, Farkhod shares how he achieved it all and how he manages to keep up with it.

  • Elvira Kalmurzaeva '15: Idea to have an IDEA

    Elvira Kalmurzaeva is a graduate of the MA in Politics and Security, class of 2015. This year Elvira received the Alumna of the Year 2017 Award for her professional achievements, her enthusiasm and contribution to the development of the youth of the region. During her studies, Elvira was one of the most active students and after the graduation started realizing her ambitions further. Today Elvira is the Executive Director of the International Debate Education Association in Central Asia (IDEA CA), who finds time to run marathons, fight for human rights, and participate in many other projects.

  • Raushan Bolotalieva: Alumni Travel Grant 2017

    Raushan Bolotalieva '11 received the Alumni Travel Grant 2017 to participate in the Advanced Training on Security Sector Reform in The Hague, Netherlands from 27 November to 1 December 2017. This five-day intensive residential course was organized by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the International Security Sector Advisory Team (ISSAT) of the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF).

  • Mingul Seitkazieva '07: Life after the OSCE Academy

    I was born in Kadamjay, one of the remotest corners in Fergana valley that inherited post-Soviet complex of border, enclaves and inter-ethnic problems between three Central Asian states, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. While being a student of Osh State University, I took part at the very first OSCE Central Asian Youth Network (CAYN) in Uzbekistan. Together with my peers from other Central Asian countries, I took part in a research seminar on regional problems.

  • Kushtarbek Shamshidov: Work in the Government

    Kushtarbek Shamshidov graduated the OSCE Academy in 2010. In 2012 he received a MAS European Scholarship for Central Asia to study in Geneva. Today Kushtarbek is one of the most succesfull graduates of the OSCE Academy, who is a Third Secretary/Consul at the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kuala Lumpur.

  • Akmaljon Abdullaev: Alumni Travel Grant

    The OSCE Academy Alumni Network, with support of the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) offers several Travel Grants a year to its alumni. Those grants are provided to qualified OSCE Academy alumni to support their professional and academic development. The first travel grant of 2016 was received by Akmaljon Abdullayev, alumnus of 2005.
