Akyikatchy (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic visits the OSCE Academy

On 09 November 2023, the OSCE Academy welcomed Dzhamilia Akmatbekovna Dzhamanbaeva, the Akyikatchy (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic, Aichurok Kalybekovna Nazaralieva, Deputy Akyikatchy, Kasymbekova Ulara, expert of the Department for the Protection of the Rights of Children, Women and the Family and Leyla Eshmukanbetova, Secretary to the Ombudsman of the KR for an introductory visit. This was the first visit of Dzhamilia Dzhamanbaeva to the OSCE Academy in Bishkek since her appointment to this position in May 2023.

Dr. Indira Satarkulova, the Acting Director of the OSCE Academy, welcomed the delegation and introduced the educational programmes, research activities, and professional trainings conducted at the OSCE Academy. The Akyikatchy met with MA, BA students of the OSCE Academy, where they had an opportunity to discuss the Ombudsman Institute in the Kyrgyz Republic, the scope of its activities, current status of human, women’s, children’s rights and answered students' questions. The visit and guest lecture were organized within the framework of the initiative dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of UDHR.
