OSCE Academy Management addresses OSCE Permanent Council

On 25 May 2023, Dr. Indira Satarkulova, the OSCE Academy Acting Director, addressed the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna within the Annual Report presentation by H.E. Ambassador Alexey Rogov, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek and the Chairperson of the OSCE Academy Board of Trustees. Dr. Satarkulova presented the summary of the annual activities of the OSCE Academy for the period since the last address of Dr. A. Wolters in May 2022, the-then Director of the OSCE Academy, and outlined key developments as well as plans for the near future. The address highlighted the successful continuation of both Master Programmes, BA Programme and launch of the third graduate programme in Human Rights and Sustainability, implemented jointly with the Global Campus of Human Right in Venice; and updated on the preparatory process for PhD Programme. 

Dr. Satarkulova informed about the research activities, professional trainings, publication output and dialogue–related events. The emphasis was also put on the establishment of new partnerships, continuation of existing cooperation network and further engagement with the EU funded programmes, in particular Jean Monnet Module grant and other Erasmus+ projects.

Dr. Satarkulova expressed deep appreciation to donors for the provided generous contributions and plead for further commitments to sustain the Academy’s activities. Dr. Indira Satarkulova  acknowledged the continued support the Academy receives from the OSCE Secretariat, the Central Asian Desk of the Conflict Prevention Centre, and the OSCE institutions and the executive structutres.

The representatives of the Delegations of the EU, Russian Federation, the United States, Turkiye, Switzerland, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Norway, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan commended the Academy’s successes in their responses to Ambassador Rogov‘s and Dr. Satarkulova‘s presentations and pledged their continuous support of this flagship project.
