Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Central Asia

On 3 October 2024 the OSCE Academy had the honour to welcome H. E. Kaha Imnadze, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Central Asia, the Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), accompanied by Mr. Mirlan Mamyrov, Programme Officer, Representative of the UNRCCA in the Kyrgyz Republic. The distinguished guests were welcomed by Dr. Pal Dunay, Interim Director of the OSCE Academy, Ms. Victoria Orazova, Head of the International Department, and Dr. Almakan Orozbekova, Project and Training Specialist. H.E. Imnadze shared the information about the regional activities his Office works on and in particular highlighted two initiatives – Women, Peace and Security, and Youth, Peace and Security - as possible areas for collaboration with the OSCE Academy. Dr. Dunay introduced the history of the OSCE Academy and its role as an educational institution in the wider Central Asian region. The opportunities were discussed to enhance cooperation between UNRCCA and the OSCE Academy
