Deputy Director Participates in the Rectors' Club Meeting

On 28 September 2024 Dr. Indira Satarkulova, Deputy Director of the OSCE Academy, participated in the meeting of the Rectors’ Club “Central Asia+” titled “Navigating Change: Leadership Challenges in Modern Academia.” The event was opened by the host, President of the American University of Central Asia Timothy O’Connor, followed by welcome remarks from the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akerke Abylaikhan, and President and founder of Almaty Management University (AlmaU) and founder of the Rectors Club "Central Asia+"; Asylbek Kozhakhmetov. The event featured two Panel sessions: "Strengthening Regional Cooperation Through Integration of Higher Education Systems in Central Asian Countries"; and "Higher Education in an Era of Change: Strategies for Central Asian Universities." Dr. Satarkulova contributed to the latter session and discussed the challenges facing the development of higher education in Central Asia and the ways to overcome them. Participants have also discussed possible cooperation among the members of the Rectors’ Club.


The Central Asian Rectors' Club was established on the initiative of the President and founder of AlmaU Asylbek Kozhakhmetov in 2023. This was the fourth meeting, attended by more than 50 representatives from 21 Central Asian universities.
