Academy Lecturer Dr. Jenish presents at “Global and Contemporary Trends in Social Science” Conference

On 6-8 November 2018, Dr. Nazgul Jenish, Senior Lecturer at the OSCE Academy, participated in the Conference “Global and Contemporary Trends in Social Science”, Barcelona. The objective of the conference was to bring together social scientists from all around the world in order to share and disseminate state-of-art research on critical socio-economic issues, ranging from financial management, poverty, migration to environmental protection, urbanization and technology diffusion. Dr. Jenish was a key-note speaker on the first day of the conference, presenting her paper “A Model of R&D Spillovers Across Firms”. The paper develops a new model of firms’ R&D investment that captures salient empirical technological diffusion patterns including threshold effects, strategic complementarities and spatial correlation across firms’ R&D. The participation in the conference furthermore allowed Dr. Jenish to establish contacts with a number of European institutions with the aim of future academic and educational collaboration within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
