“New challenges in the OSCE region: civil support of the process of Austria’s OSCE Chairmanship in 2017” round table

On December 23, 2016, Acting Director Ms Indira Satarkulova and Academic Supervisor of the Politics and Security Programme of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Ms Aigoul Abdoubaetova participated in the international roundtable on “New challenges in the OSCE region: civil support of the process of Austria’s OSCE Chairmanship in 2017” held at the Caucasus International University in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The roundtable was organized by the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly – Caucasus Institute for Regional Security, the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the University of Vienna, the Austrian Institute for Caucasus Studies in Georgia, the International network “Universities for Peace” and the Caucasus International University. The event aimed at increasing civil participation in support of Austria’s OSCE Chairmanship in 2017 via consolidation of efforts of non-governmental organizations, academic and expert communities and media representatives.

Additionally, Ms Satarkulova and Ms Abdoubaetova met Dr Kakhaber Kordzaia, rector of the Caucasus International University and discussed further supplements to the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions, signed in 2015.

The Academy’s representatives had a separate meeting with students of the Caucasus International University, where they gave a talk about the Academy’s educational programmes and explained rules and regulations of the admission process for prospective students from Georgia.
