| NewsThe workshop "Understanding Central Asian Islam - Contemporary Perspectives on Research"August 29, 2011 The Workshop was designed to help young researchers, policy experts and conflict management practitioners to review their assumptions about Central Asian Islam in light of recent research. On 25th of August, a seminar discussion was held with 10 leading scholars from Europe and Central Asia. The output of this discussion will be a series of papers published shortly after the seminar. Participants discussed such questions as objects of research in the studies on Central Asian Islam, "political" in Central Asian Islam, historical, sociological and anthropological perspectives on Central Asian Islam. On 26th of August the invited scholars lead group discussions with young academics and conflict management practitioners from Central Asia. |
