13 - 25 November 2006 Joint Training Course in Crisis Management
A two-week joint training course in crisis management was held by the OSCE Academy and the Austrian Study Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution (ASPR).
This training brought together 16 participants from Central Asia. Programme subjects covered introduction to crisis prevention and crisis management, overview of its concepts and strategies, the role of various actors in crisis prevention and management, stress management, monitoring and evaluation of the information flow, as well as safety and security aspects. Training methodology included presentations, case studies in different perspectives, practical simlation, and theory of four-wheel driving.
The ASPR was founded in September 1982 as an independent, non-profit and non-partisan organization. The ASPR aims to contribute to the promotion of peace and peaceful conflict resolution and to the dissemination of practical ideas for peace, including its developmental and environmental aspects. The ASPR was awarded the UN "Peace Messenger" status in 1987, and the UNESCO-Price for Peace Education in 1995.
