One-week training on Media and Democracy took place from 25 till 29 September 2006 at the OSCE Academy in Bishkek.

Training was coached by Mr. Andre Loersch, Swiss-based independent consultancy network Media4Democracy and other local trainers were – Mr. Marat Tokoev, Head, Public Union "Journalists", Mr. Azamat Imanaliev, Editor, Information Agency “AkiPress”, Mr. Shamaral Maichiev, Media representative for KR. Training programme focused on the role of media in democracy and overview of legislation, information quality standards, analysis in journalism etc. Major attention was paid to practice - journalists wrote and re-wrote their articles and presented them according to the information quality standards.
