Human Rights School for Young Lawyers: intensive practical course
From 4-8 September, 2006 Human Rights School for Young Lawyers was held. 18 participants from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan continued their training courses after Spring School (took place in March 2006). Participants represented law and legal sciences students from state and private universities, practicing lawyers and human rights activists.
 
Leading Trainers were Ms. Gulnara Sheishekeeva (Public Foundation Legal Center, Kyrgyzstan) and Ms. Nigina Bakhrieva (Republican Bureau on Human Rights and Rule of Law, Tajikistan). Among invited lecturers are Ms. Janyl Alieva (Judge, Member of Law Drafting Committee under the President of KR), Ms. Chinara Musabekova (Kyrgyz National Law Academy), Mr. Nurbek Toktakunov (“Youth Human Rights Group” & “Independent Human Rights Group”), Mr. Azamat Kerimbaev (ABA/CEELI) and Mr. Ayaz Baetov.
 
Agenda of the intensive practical course embraced International HR standards and their specifications, fair legal procedure standards, legal reform, etc. Course also consisted of interactive component such as group discussions, group work, brainstorm, presentations, role plays, case studies and moot court.
