International Conference on Human Security and Peace in Central Asia was held by UNESCO
On 8 and 9 September 2005, the International Conference on Human Security and Peace in Central Asia was held by UNESCO and the OSCE Academy in Bishkek. Essential part of the series of regional conferences on Human Security that have been carried out since 2001, the conference in Bishkek was also dedicated to the upcoming 60th anniversary of UNESCO.
The Conference in Bishkek brought together a number of eminent Central Asian and international experts, government officials and representatives of NGOs. During animated discussions, the complex issue of human security in Central Asia was analyzed. A study on "The Ethical, Normative and Educational Frameworks for the Promotion of Human Security in Central Asia", prepared by Ms. Anara Tabyshalieva upon UNESCO’s request was also presented and discussed.
