On 6 September 2005, Miklos Haraszti, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, visited the OSCE Academy and had a meeting with OSCE Academy master students on freedom of mass media. In the first part of the meeting, he gave a short historical overview of the establishment and development of the Institution of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of Media. Further he expressed his views on the current situation with the freedom of media in the world and particularly Central Asia. Second part of the meeting was devoted to the questions and answers of the students, where they had an opportunity to discuss present developments and problems of the media in the region in a greater depth.
