On 31 May 2005, Alojz Peterle, the OSCE Chairman's Personal Representative for Central Asia, visited the OSCE Academy and delivered a lecture on European Integration. The main issues discussed during his lecture were: the European Union as a political, economic and cultural union, the enlargement of the EU, the future of the European Constitution in the light of the recent referendum in France, and the European Union as a model for Central Asian states.
